Renowned producer RB Choudary dies in a fatal crash.

In a heart-wrenching news, veteran Indian film producer Ratanlal Bhagatram (RB) Choudary, 76,
tragically passed away in a road accident near Udaipur, Rajasthan on May 5, 2026.
This left the South Indian film fraternity, especially the Tamil and Telugu film industries in
complete shock.

Details of the car accident

RB Choudary was travelling to Beawar (Rajasthan) after attending a relative’s wedding function,
when his car suddenly lost control, reportedly while attempting to avoid a stray herd of cows on
Beawar–Pali–Pindwara road (NH-162).
The vehicle then crashed into a roadside divider, killing Choudary on the spot while his son-inlaw and driver suffered serious injuries and were transported to the nearest hospital.

Who was RB Choudary?

Choudary was the founder of the production banner “Super Good Films” and produced multiple
films, majorly in Tamil and Telugu film industries. Originally from Rajasthan, he started his career with the Malayalam film industry beforeproducing Tamil films. He produced numerous blockbusters and worked with several superstars like Chiranjeevi, Rajnikanth, Vijay and Mohanlal. His filmography includes popular hits like Jilla, Rowthiram, Surya Vamsham, Godfather, Ishq :Not a love story, Mr. Pellikoduku, Cheran Pandian, Bheemili Kabbadi Jattu, and Poove Unakkaga. Maareesan, starring Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil, was his last project.He is survived by his wife and four children, including Tamil actor Jiiva

Film industry mourns RB Choudary’s demise

Tributes poured in for the veteran producer from the South Indian film fraternity. Superstar Rajnikanth expressed deepest condolences to his family, sharing his emotions for the producer on ‘X’, “My dear friend, Super Good Films R.B. Choudhary is a top-notch producer. wonderful human being. He has given opportunities to countless young directors and kept the film world alive. His untimely death news has left me in great shock and immense sorrow.” Deputy Chief Minister (Andhra Pradesh) and actor Pawan Kalyan also penned his condolences on ‘X’, “The demise of renowned producer and Super Good Films head Shri RB Chowdary Garu hasleft me stunned. I cannot believe the tragic news that Shri Chowdary Garu met with a fatal end in a road accident near Udaipur in Rajasthan. I pray to God that his soul attains peace.” RB Choudary’s final rites will be performed in Chennai.
