Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) chief and actor Kamal Haasan is all set to enter the Rajya Sabha following a poll deal with Tamil Nadu’s ruling DMK.
The Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) Party’s Executive Committee and General Council unanimously decided to nominate party president Kamal Haasan as their candidate for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections on June 19, 2025.
This decision aligns with the seat-sharing agreement between DMK and MNM, as per the 2024 parliamentary election agreement, under which one Rajya Sabha seat was allocated to MNM.
The committee also passed a resolution urging DMK-led alliance partners to extend full support to Kamal Haasan in the upcoming election
