By 2029, India will deploy 52 military surveillance satellites as part of the ₹26,000 crore ($3.2 billion) program to improve national defense operations.
Program Overview
This initiative will improve India’s space-based defense systems, one of the biggest military upgrades the country has seen in years.
Major Capabilites Deploy 52 Military Surveillance
The major features of the satellite network will include:
More Advanced Monitoring Systems– Currently, India’s border and strategic point monitoring is limited. These satellites will give 24-7 full monitoring. Heavy advancements will come from the capability of monitoring in all weather and nighttime.
More Advanced Strategic Defense– Currently, India’s defense is limited across the many strategies available. These systems will provide defense in real time from anywhere in the field due to the comprehensive cloud network. This will increase the overall capability of the defense across all the terrains.
National Interest
Development of defense coverage is always a national interest of India’s. The tracking systems will cover all essential unfilled positions across the timeline of India’s current systems. These systems will cover tracking in all weather, in all light, and in extreme challenges. This system will cover the tracking capability in the current unfilled positions.
Through this initiative, India is now part of an exclusive club of nations with advanced military satellite surveillance systems, enabling the country to safeguard its strategic assets and address security threats more effectively.
This is a significant milestone for India in strengthening its defence and the increasing application of space technology for its national security.
