Kolkata:–Following the historic formation of a new pro-nation government in West Bengal, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has launched a massive and strict deportation drive. Since taking the oath of office on May 9, 2026, the new Chief Minister has made it clear that the state will no longer tolerate illegal infiltration. Under his strict guidance, the government is working hard to rebuild Bengal and remove all illegal immigrants who are eating the development like insects.
The “Detect, Delete, Deport” Policy
To secure the state and its resources, CM Adhikari introduced a strong policy called “Detect, Delete, Deport.” Under this rule, the state police will actively find undocumented immigrants, delete their names from official state systems, and hand them directly over to the Border Security Force (BSF) so they can be sent back to Bangladesh.
Recently, while speaking at a state event, the Chief Minister proudly announced that 4,800 illegal infiltrators have already been deported to Bangladesh within just one month. He clarified that these individuals did not fall under the protective rules of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA).
Ending the “Guest” Treatment
In the past, illegal immigrants caught in West Bengal were often sent to regular prisons. CM Adhikari strongly criticized this old method, pointing out that they were treated like guests—fed the state’s food, given clothes, and provided with medicines using public money. The new government has completely stopped this practice. Now, they are placed in special holding centers and detention camps. Currently, holding centers in districts like Malda and Murshidabad are fully active. Over 386 individuals have been transferred to these centers, and 836 illegal infiltrators are currently kept in holding facilities waiting to be deported very soon.
Strengthening Border Security
To permanently solve the problem of illegal border crossing, the new government is giving massive support to the BSF. Over 100 kilometers of border land has already been handed over to the BSF to complete fencing work. Priority is being given to highly sensitive areas, including the strategically important “Chicken Neck” region in North Bengal. Furthermore, the state recently handed over an additional 142.79 acres of land to the BSF to build barbed wire fencing along a 27-kilometer open stretch in just 45 days.
Results on the Ground
This zero-tolerance policy has created massive panic among illegal infiltrators. Hundreds of undocumented immigrants are now voluntarily rushing to border areas, such as the Hakimpur checkpost in the North 24 Parganas district. They are standing in long queues, pleading to return to Bangladesh to escape the strict legal actions of the West Bengal government.
Chief Minister Adhikari’s firm actions show a clear commitment to national security. By identifying and removing those who unlawfully consume the state’s resources, the new government is taking real steps to protect the demographic and economic future of West Bengal.
