Former Fire Minister Sujit Bose, from the previous TMC dispensation, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on charges of corruption and various alleged financial discrepancies and irregularities related to West Bengal municipalities.
Sujit Bose had allegedly recommended around 150 candidates for various posts under the South Dum Dum Municipality in exchange for pecuniary benefits. Huge deposits of cash traced in his Bank accounts under his control stated by anti- money laundering Agency.

During search operations linked to the Teachers recruitment scam, enforcement agencies recovered digital evidence and documents from an alleged TMC aide Ayan Sil, pointing to irregular Municipal appointments. Investigation agencies believe the irregularities may be part of a broader network of corruption spanning multiple public sector recruitments in the state.
