On May 11, Nida Khan was remanded to 14 days of judicial custody, that is, till May 24, as ordered by Nashik Road Court. As per police, Khan is the prime accused in the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) sexual exploitation and forced conversions case (Nashik, Maharashtra), where allegedly a nexus was operating between 40 male Muslim employees, subjecting female employees to sexual harassment, abuse, blackmail and forced religious conversions. The victims comprise 8 women and one male employee, with 7 accused employees currently in police custody.
As of now, Nida Khan has been lodged in the Nashik Road Central Jail.
Rejection of Anticipatory Bail and Subsequent Arrest
Nida Khan was intercepted on May 7 from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, after over 40 days of hiding, in a joint operation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and local police. She was reportedly being sheltered by Matin Patel, an All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) corporator.
Khan had sought anticipatory bail in Nashik Sessions Court, citing her alleged pregnancy. On May 2, the Nashik court rejected Nida Khan’s anticipatory bail on the grounds that, as the court held, a “systematic plan” was operating to manipulate and brainwash the victim.
Khan has been booked under Sections 69, 75, and 299 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertain to sexual intercourse by deceitful means, sexual harassment and outraging religious feelings respectively. She has also been booked under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act because the victim belongs to the Scheduled Caste, which Nida Khan was well-aware of.
Evidence Retrieved from Nida Khan
Khan had sent nearly 171 religious videos and online content links via WhatsApp to the victim to pressurise her into converting, according to the forensic analysis done by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Nashik Police. The SIT further informed the court that Khan had decided to change the name of the victim to “Haniya” and even taught her Roza fasting practices and Hijab practices at the accused’s home.
Two phones have also been confiscated that allegedly contain messages and other digital evidence connected to religious conversion.
In addition, Khan’s bank account and passbooks have been seized to uncover potential funding from certain groups and to track her financial activities linked to this case.
Shockingly, international organised crime groups may also be involved as the SIT is probing Khan’s connections with Malaysia and with a person identified as “Imran”, that includes foreign funding from such syndicates.
NCW’s Shocking Findings
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has submitted a report of the “Fact Finding Committee of NCW in TCS, Nashik case” to Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on May 8, 2026. The report reveals appalling conditions of the TCS Nashik workplace, detailed in over 50 pages.
Key Findings Mentioned in the Report
- Deeply disturbing and toxic workplace marked by pervasive sexual harassment.
- Mental, emotional and sexual harassment of young and vulnerable girls, including stalking, bullying, humiliating behaviour and molestation attempts.
- Anti-religious comments against female employees’ Hindu beliefs, traditions and practices.
- Hindu faith was belittled and a coercive environment was created, where Islam was shown as a superior religion.
- No formal complaint mechanism or trustworthy environment in the office.
- TCS Nashik office was in control of the accused Danish, Tausif and Raza Memon, who were protected by Ashwini Chainani.
- Employees feared to file complaints and those who did speak up, were either transferred or terminated.
- Inoperative CCTV cameras.
- Not a single member of the Internal Committee (IC), under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act), had ever visited or inspected the Nashik office for POSH Act compliance. Pune and Nashik have a common IC.

An Alleged Larger “Conversion Jihad” at Play
Sanjay Shirsat, a Maharashtra state minister, has levelled allegations of larger conversion racket involving former MP Imtiaz Jaleel.
Shirsat said, “This is a well-thought-out conspiracy. The accused is just a pawn. Many big figures are behind this racket. Imtiaz Jaleel is also involved in this.”
Pressing on Jaleel’s complicity in the TCS conversion case, Shirsat continued, “Imtiaz Jaleel supported this girl and brought her from Nashik to Sambhajinagar, and she and four other members of her family were staying at his corporator’s home. Imtiaz Jaleel is the main culprit.”
Following these allegations, the minister called for a comprehensive investigation into the wider conspirators involved, asserting, “AIMIM party could be a pawn too. Someone could be behind them as well… I demand that an SIT should be formed… and arrest Imtiaz and his partner. When he is in police custody, he will spill all the other names.”
Further SIT investigation in the TCS Nashik case is underway.
